What Lissafi does, what it costs, how the numbers are checked, and what happens to your bank statement.
Lissafi reads a bank statement and turns it into a structured financial analysis. You upload a PDF, CSV or Excel statement and get back an executive summary in plain English, income and spending totals, a category breakdown, monthly cash flow, your largest transactions, recurring payments, bank charges, and a searchable view of every transaction. You can also see who you send money to and receive money from, consolidated by counterparty. The result can be downloaded as an Excel working paper or printed to PDF.
PDF, CSV, XLS, XLSX and XLSM. A PDF exported directly from your bank's app or internet banking works best, because the text is machine-readable. Scanned or photographed statements are harder to read accurately and may produce a poorer analysis.
There is no hard page limit — long statements are accepted, they simply use more credits, since one credit covers up to 15 pages. Each file may be up to 25 MB, and you can upload several at once. In practice a statement downloaded from your bank stays far below the size limit at any length — even a full year of transactions is usually only a few megabytes. Scanned or photographed statements are much heavier and can pass 25 MB within a handful of pages, which is why downloading the PDF from internet banking is worth the extra minute.
No. Lissafi runs entirely in your web browser on a phone, tablet or computer. There is no app to download and nothing to install.
Yes. Every new account starts with 1 free credit, which is enough to run a complete analysis of up to 3 statements. You can read the full report on screen without paying anything. Downloading the Excel or PDF working paper is the part that requires a purchase.
Because your analysis contains financial information, we confirm that the address on the account actually belongs to you before granting access. After signing up you receive a 6-digit code by email; entering it unlocks the account. The code expires after 15 minutes and you can request a new one at any time.
Lissafi is prepaid, not a subscription. You buy credits and spend them on analyses. One credit runs one analysis of up to 3 statements or 15 pages. A single analysis costs ₦2,500, and larger packs reduce the price per analysis. There is no monthly fee and no minimum commitment.
One credit covers one analysis of up to 3 statements or accounts, or 15 pages in total — whichever you reach first. Beyond either limit, each further 3 statements or 15 pages uses one more credit. In practice the page limit rarely applies: a Nigerian monthly statement is typically 2 to 5 pages, so three of them still cost a single credit. It applies to long statements — a full year of transactions in one document runs to 30 pages or more and will use two or three credits.
No. Credits never expire and there is no monthly reset. They stay on your account until you use them. Credits are deducted only when an analysis actually starts, so a failed upload does not cost you anything.
Card processing fees are added at checkout by our payment provider rather than absorbed into the listed price. A ₦2,500 analysis is therefore charged at a little over ₦2,500. The difference is the processing fee, not a Lissafi charge.
Yes, and it is usually better to. When you upload several accounts belonging to the same person or business in one analysis, Lissafi detects transfers between those accounts and removes them from your income and expense totals, so money moved between your own accounts is not double-counted as earnings or spending.
Payments are handled by Paystack, which accepts Nigerian debit cards, bank transfer and USSD. Your card details are entered on Paystack's own secure checkout page and are never seen or stored by Lissafi. Credits are added to your account automatically as soon as the payment is confirmed.
Extraction is performed by an AI model, and every figure it produces is then checked deterministically rather than taken on trust. Lissafi recalculates each account from its opening balance through every transaction and compares the result against the closing balance printed on your statement. If those do not reconcile, the report tells you so instead of presenting a number that does not add up. Classifications are the model's judgement and should be reviewed; the arithmetic is verified.
Yes. Any transaction's category can be changed from the report, and the totals, charts and summary update immediately to match. Your correction is also remembered: the next time a similar transaction from the same counterparty appears, it is classified the way you corrected it. The system learns from your corrections rather than repeating the same mistake.
Yes. Statements are read in whatever currency they are denominated in, and the whole report and Excel export are presented in that currency. Nothing is converted, so the figures match your statement exactly.
Lissafi is not built against a fixed list of banks. It reads the statement as a document, so any bank's format can be processed, including formats it has never seen before. This includes Nigerian and international banks alike.
Lissafi produces an automated analysis intended to save you time, not a certified audit. Figures are derived by automated processing and should be verified against the original bank records before being relied on for lending, litigation, tax or any other formal purpose. The Excel working paper is designed to make that verification straightforward by showing the underlying transactions behind every total.
The file you upload is not stored. It is read in memory to extract the data and then discarded once processing completes. What is retained is the extracted analysis — the transactions, balances and classifications — because that is what you need in order to view, search and export your report.
No. Account numbers are shortened before they are ever written to our database — only the last 4 digits are kept, which is enough for you to tell your own accounts apart in a report. The full number is never stored, so it cannot appear in a backup or a support query.
Analyses are deleted automatically 12 months after they are created. You do not have to do anything for that to happen. You can also delete any individual analysis yourself at any time, which removes its data immediately.
Yes. Account deletion is available in Settings and removes your profile along with every analysis, statement, transaction and saved correction belonging to it. It requires your password and cannot be undone. Any unused credits are forfeited, and records of payments you have made are retained separately because we are required to keep them.
No. Every analysis is tied to the account that created it and is only ever readable by that account. Reports are not public, are not indexed by search engines, and have no shareable public link.
Statement content is sent to our AI provider solely to perform the extraction you requested, and is processed server-side only — it is never exposed to the browser. Payment details go directly to Paystack and never pass through Lissafi. We do not sell personal information and we run no advertising. We do use analytics to understand how the site is used: Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless, and Google Analytics, which sets cookies and measures pages visited, approximate location and device. Neither receives your statement data or the contents of any analysis.
A branded Excel working paper containing the executive summary, category breakdowns, counterparty analysis, recurring payments and the full transaction listing, formatted so that each headline figure can be traced to the transactions behind it. The on-screen report can also be printed to PDF.
Viewing an analysis is free, including with your free signup credit. Downloading the Excel or PDF working paper requires a purchase. Buying any credit pack unlocks downloads permanently, for that analysis and every other one on your account, past or future.
Most statements are processed within a minute or two. Longer statements take proportionally longer because they are read in sections. Processing continues in the background, so you can leave the page and come back — the report refreshes itself when it is ready.
The report tells you what went wrong rather than failing silently. The most common causes are a scanned or photographed statement whose text cannot be read reliably, a password-protected PDF, or a statement so long that it needs to be split. Splitting a long statement by month and uploading the parts usually resolves it.
Individuals reviewing their own spending; accountants and bookkeepers preparing client records; auditors and consultants performing reviews; lenders and credit teams assessing affordability; and business owners preparing management accounts or loan applications. Accounts can be registered as either an individual or a company.
The analysis itself is identical. A company account additionally records your company name and registration number, which appear on the branded reports you download. You choose the account type when you sign up, and it can be changed later in Settings.
Lissafi is built and operated by Bethel Professional House, a professional services firm. It is an independent product with its own platform, and the analysis it produces is designed to meet the standards of professional review work.
The Privacy Policy, Terms of Use & Data Protection Notice covers how your data is handled in full detail. Pricing is set out on the pricing page.
